Check pixel-art source and preview differences
Distinguish a source-data problem from an image-display problem when sharing or downloading artwork.
The preview looks soft
A raster preview can be smoothed when enlarged. Inspect the artwork at its intended size and compare it with the editable source. Use a pixel-preserving display workflow when reviewing individual cells.
The JSON does not open
Keep the file extension and contents intact, then check whether the destination supports the same source format. A renamed image file is not a valid JSON project. Preserve the original export and report the format or validation message when asking for help.
A source action requires an account
Check the site’s current account and permission requirements. Public browsing, uploading and managing your own work can have different access rules. Avoid publishing account details or private source data while reporting an issue.
Try the free image converter
Apply this workflow in the free image-to-pixel-art converter. Compare palettes and dithering, download a PNG or editable .pxa, and use the Figma or Adobe Express workflow when you want to continue in a design host.
